Board of directors (BOD)
The BOD is responsible for maintaining common grounds including roads, drainage, structures other than homeowners' units, and common lawns. The BOD also manages the funds required for these activities and related activities including trash removal as well as enforcing the Village Green Homeowners Association rules, guidelines and by-laws. The main focus and duty for the BOD is to preserve and maximize the value of our community and its 114 units while managing the costs of these activities.
The most important mission of the BOD is to serve the homeowners by preserving and maximizing homeowner equity and resale value of units in our community by performing the above duties well.
The five voting members of the BOD are elected to two-year terms during the annual meeting. Nominations to the BOD are made by the Nominating Committee (NC) prior to the open meeting so all candidates nominated by the NC appear on the ballot. A VGHOA member with voting rights can also make nominations during the annual open meeting for candidates that meet the qualification requirements. Immediately following the elections at the annual open meeting, the BOD votes to appoint its members to specific positions on the board [President, Vice President (we maintain two VP's on the BOD), Secretary and Treasurer].
The two-year terms are overlapping such that on odd years, three of the five positions are elected (or reelected) and on even years, two of the five positions are elected (or reelected). By doing this, we always have continuity as new members are elected.
Architectural Control Committee (ACC)
The ACC is organized by, reports to, and works closely with the BOD to ensure that the outside of our buildings are properly maintained and present a uniform, pleasing appearance. The ACC recommends approval or disapproval of homeowners' requests to modify or make repairs to the outside of their units that may change the appearance in any way. The ACC reviews and suggests updates and changes to the VGHOA exterior guidelines such as paint, shingle and siding colors, decks, windows and other items that impact the overall appearance of our community.
The ACC is comprised of at least one board member and two VGHOA members. The BOD appoints the ACC.
Nominating Committee (NC)
The NC is selected by the BOD prior to each annual open meeting and each NC is active for a period of one year. The purpose of the NC is to find and nominate interested and qualified candidates following the current elections. Nominees are then added to the ballot prior to the next year's election. The NC is required to find as many candidates as there are vacancies on the BOD. The NC consists of at least one BOD member who serves as chairperson and at least two other VGHOA members.
